I could just envision Miss Anne as she traveled to huntsville, she wrote so vividly. Thanks for sharing.
Harold W. Howard
I really N’joy reading these stories of old Alabama. Baldin Howard (my 3rd great grandfather) settled in North Alabama in 1817. His place was due east of Plevna at the base of the mountain which can be seen from Winchester Hwy. Plevna is a very small community just north of New Market, Alabama. The fact that I have been an Alabamian now for almost 76 years is probably why I n’joy hearing and reading the stories of old. Thanks for making them known!!
Nice to go back in time for a bit.To see cotton with such a fine eye.Ah,Miss Anne had such a way with words.
