Great writing of an early settler.
A lot of people could apparently spin quite a few good yarns.
These became accepted as Alabama History.
Too bad they stand contradicted in some substantial areas against more definitive references.
The idea of using the Life of Jackson, something of a parody, as a historical reference was misguided.
Today’s access to other records make some things contradict other references.
So it will be time to set this whole story straight.
