From Dallas Co., Alabama Marriage Record 1845- 65:
p. 178: ABNER C. MOBLEY to MRS. LUCY M. WHITING, on 18 Oct., 1855, by ELIJAH BELL, M. G.
p. 25: ABER C. MOBLEY to MISS ELIZABETH E. PLEDGER, on 9th September 1846, by W. H. MDANIEL M. G.
It is obvious from the above dates that neither of these wives of ABNER C. MOBLEY was the mother of SARAH E. BATES.
The mother of SARAH E. (MOBLEY) BATES must have been ANN, the first wife of ABNER C. MOBLEY. I have not found a record of their marriage, nor of her surnames. She signed a deed as wife of A. C. MOBLEY in 1832, and another in 1845, both in Dallas County.See Deed Book C, p. 124, and Deed Book L, p. 315.

FANNIE LANGHAM is now MRS. MASSEY. She is named, along with the above and the other heirs names in the will on the preceding page.
From these documents I infer that LUCY M. (WHITING) MOBLEY must have been a COLEMAN.
A client states that LUCY WHITING MOBLEY was a COLEMAN, (or was married to a COLEMAN).
