BLUE_MONDAYHave you ever wondered where some of our common sayings came from...here are some possibilities of how they originated

Are you having a “Blue Monday?” In colonial times Monday was traditionally a flogging day aboard a ship when disobedient sailors were flogged until they were black and blue.

Inside Track” and “Also Ran” came from the horse races. The word “handicap” came from the practice of putting your horse's name or number in a cap for someone to pull out to determine your horse's post postion. Hand in the cap was shortened to “handicap”

Since fast horses were soon well known and easily recognized, dishonest owners had to find ways to disguise them when taken to races. The best way to do that was to paint the horse. If it was painted darker....hence the sayings “Dark Horse” Horse of Another Color.”
