Are looking for a old-fashioned recipe for Christmas?

How about Christmas pudding?

1 cup ground suet

1 cup molasses

1 cup milk

3 ½ cups of flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon cinnamon

¼ teaspoon cloves

¼ teaspoon nutmeg

1 cup raisins

½ cup currants

½ cup finely chopped citron

2 teaspoons cream of tartar

Combine suet, molasses and milk. Sift flour, reserving ¼ for dredging fruits. Sift remainder of flour with salt, spices, cream of tartar and soda. Combine with suet mixture, add fruits, mixing thoroughly.

Fill well-oiled 1 pound cans 2/3 full, cover and steam 3 hours. Serve hot with any desired pudding sauce. 12 servings.
