DOCUMENTING ALABAMA'S HISTORY!

WELCOME TO ALABAMA PIONEERS—A FREE GENEALOGY AND HISTORY LIBRARY ABOUT ALABAMA'S

EARLY ALABAMA PIONEERS

We now have a MESSAGE BOARD for registered members to post Alabama queries

and communicate with other members!

Alabama Pioneers is a free virtual Alabama Genealogy and History library.  Alabama Pioneers is unique, with lots of actual records  plus stories and memories of Alabama members.

We are a family friendly, sharing community, as a member described, “The website is like a reunion of family and friends each contributing a slice of their experience and history.”

Alabama has a rich history. Thousands of people settled in Alabama during the “Alabama Fever” period that occurred prior to statehood in the early 1800's, when the Mississippi Territory was opened for  settlement. Many early settlers came from North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Mississippi, Georgia, Kentucky, and Tennessee. They often married, settled in Alabama for a period of years and had 10 to 20 children. Their descendants then moved further west in search of new frontiers in Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and even as far as California and Alaska before the Civil War. Many people throughout the United States of America may discover their roots trace back to Alabama.
